Spend Your Easter Underwater With The Ultimate Egg Hunt

underwater_easter
Long gone are the days of getting excited for the Easter Bunny and all of his spoils — in fact, we are more likely to be giving the little lapin a hand hiding his eggs instead of running amok looking for treasure. But for us big kids who are at home in the water, here's a new, definitely different tradition for Easter. Head to Key Largo for the 12th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, which is the same familiar egg scenario...just amidst a coral reef. Seriously.
Both snorkelers and scuba divers are welcome, and the quest culminates in the capturing of a coveted golden egg (the prize, like the location of the reef, is top secret). The whole thing is a distinctly Sunshine State take on the holiday, just so long as a man in a furry bunny suit and a snorkel enthusiastically hiding oval toys doesn't creep you out. P.S.: We're feeling competitive. $85 per certified diver, $30 for snorkelers.
When: Sunday, April 8. Boat departs at 8 a.m.
Where: Captain Slate's Atlantis Dive Center, 51 Garden Cove Drive, Key Largo, 305-451-3020.
