Six Online Fashion Mags Making the Fall of Print Bearable
Once upon a time, we all worshipped printed magazines. Those glossy bibles that guided us through our search for inspiration, knowledge, and artistic enlightenment. But we all know where this story is headed. And, given print's dismal future, a number of virtual 'zines are rising up to fill in the gaps many of our fave titles are leaving behind—and several are pushing boundaries that print could not. Think more interactive editorials and a giant mosh pit of brilliant talents finally getting some spotlight. While printed mags are our first true love, this new crop of online journals is that mysterious, badass artist guy we can't keep our eyes (and hands) off of. Here is the newest batch of online fashion magazines totally turning us on.ILOVE FAKE, ilovefakemagazine.com
Famed photographer Jolijin Snidjers took her knack for finding fresh talent and developed this edgy, inspirational pit-stop for the young and the bold.
Pilfered, www.pilferedmagazine.com
Patrick Hoelck and Rudj founded Pilfered to create a "massive image collective shared by the people, for the people." A compilation of stimulating images, each "issue" of Pilfered is made with help of a new guest editor, such as Brett Ratner and Cory Kennedy. For those who enjoy escaping into an alternate universe of inspiring images, Pilfered is for you.
Mykromag, www.mykromag.com
Filled with collaborations between the emerging and the established, this black and white "mag" is so visually appealing that we almost never want to see color again…almost.
Lines & Gold, www.linesandgold.com
Newly launched, Lines & Gold is a beautifully composed online journal, created by Lanya and Lauren Snyder, that showcases fashion, art, and culture from the emerging sphere.
Digital-Temple, www.digital-temple.com
Like its name, this mag is a design, art, and lifestyle temple for every genre of artists. With themes like fashion and music, we were converts at first sight.
160grams, 160grams.com
This avante-garde digital explodes with cutting-edge fashion editorials, including an exceedingly creepy interactive spread shot by Pamela Reed and Matthew Rader.
