Two-Faced! Alexandre Herchcovitch Gets Schizo for Fall

alexandre-herchcovitch-fall-09-1
Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch gave us the recession special we had been awaiting all week: two shows for the price of one. His fall/winter '09 collection was split in two decidedly—the first half featured voluminous, textured, colorful and beaded dresses that made us ponder their ability to keep us warm next winter. The second half, however, which was compiled of mostly black pieces with a charming patchwork cut-and-paste quality, really got us going. While his chunky shoes were an utter flop (so to speak), the beaded gloves were too adorable for words. And, do we even need to mention that the omnipresent Kanye and Co. were there? Well, we just did.
