Louis Vuitton Makes A Literal Statement With Their New Art Book

Break out your library cards, folks. In trends we didn't see coming, it seems the coffee table book has become the status symbol du récession. Sure the 400-page behemoths aren't exactly totable. But since no one can afford to go out anymore, who cares? (Conveniently, they also provide a manually operated source of entertainment when you've defaulted on your cable and electricity bills). And because no one knows how to take a trend and monogram the shit out of it like Bernie Arnault, behold the latest hard-bound accessory from Louis Vuitton: Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture (Did you really think he was going to let Selby and Schumann have all the fun?). According to HypeBeast, the predictably self-titled tome follows the brand's humble (we scoff) beginnings as a luggage maker and delves into LV's influence in the world's of art, architecture, design, photography and fashion (in a mere 400-pages, no less.) Modest it is not. But if you're a monogram-loving, doctor-bag-toting, Louis lover, this is undoubtedly the statement your coffee table should be making&mdash paging Mr. West.
