Draw Your Bow
Bow-ties and cravats make a covetable comeback. By Kelley Hoffman

The latest look in neckwear we've spotted on the streets has gotten us craving a dandy old friend known as the cravat. While we've seen plenty of scarves (we're over it!) and bow ties, these new silhouettes use statement knots and a little length while maintaining a tidy elegance. Constructed from chunky fabrics to fanciful ribbons, and with styles ranging from gothic to western, this is an easy guy- and girl-friendly DIY move to pop in under your collar.

If you're on the lookout for some finely made pieces, we'd suggest checking out Timo's pre-fall 2009 presentation of luxury neckwear on Novemer 18 at Phillips de Pury—with a shot we've included below modeled by the lovely designer Abigail Lorick. Otherwise, check out some of our favorite examples of cravats we've pulled from across the globe to get inspired, for as they say, the best presents are always hidden beneath a bow.
