Couture Report: Superheroes and Villains Duke It Out At Valentino, Gaultier

Couture week is in full swing, and yesterday, we gave you the lowdown on some of our favorite looks from Chanel, Lacroix, Givenchy, and Dior. Meanwhile, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Picciolli turned out a strong collection at Valentino, which is impressive for the design team that critics absolutely panned last season. This time around, we were absolutely smitten with the lace, the sheer overlays, the intricate ruffles, while Gaultier chose Bardot-esque beauty Lara Stone to open his "screen sirens"-themed show. But despite the obvious overtones, we couldn't help but notice a mini-trend in the making: A battle between good and evil, if you will. Valentino's ladies were either masked like Poison Ivy or Catwoman, while Gaultier conjured up Wonderwoman-esque bodysuits dueling it out against a slithering, Medusa-like number. So which part would you pick to play: The villain or a masked crusader?
