Lookin' Up — The “incline” button can be intimidating, but when you train at an incline, you are creating a greater challenge for your quads, calves, and glutes, giving you a better workout in a shorter amount of time. Mario says that there is no need to go crazy fast or steep when it comes to working out on an incline. Instead, he suggests starting at 5% and building your way up from there.

For a 30- to 40-minute workout, start with the speed between 3 to 5 mph and the incline above 5%.  Focus on pushing off your big toe and driving with your glutes (butt muscles) after every step.  Before long, your calves and glutes will be burning, as many of us walk on the outside of our feet and tend to under-utilize our lower bodies. Increase the speed or incline steadily throughout the workout, depending on how you feel.
