The subtle white facade of cult fave Satine makes it easy to miss. But once you set foot in this three-room boutique, you'll quickly become a regular. Owner Jeannie Lee says she was a disgruntled lawyer prior to realizing her distinctive fashion point of view. "I gave up the practice to do what I really love," says Jeannie.
Created to feel like a cool girl's dream closet, Satine stocks a mix of luxury and indie labels in a range from everyday to more dramatic. Antique furniture and a retro chic décor extend a funky, welcoming feel for meandering through the goods. Here, you'll recognize the latest and greatest creations from Erin Featherston, See by Chloé, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen alongside lesser-known labels we love like Tsumori Chisato, San Francisco's Hengst, plus Steven Alan, Paul & Joe, Mayle, VPL, and A.P.C. "Los Angeles girls have really mastered the art of eclectic style, mixing Chanel with vintage and unknown designers," says Jeannie. "I really wanted to create a store that would cater to that sensibility." Mission accomplished. |
