General Store
If you haven't heard about the coolness that is General Store, we might be forced to believe you live under a rock. That's just how big this word-of-mouth favorite, nestled on Judah Street near Ocean Beach, has become. Stocked with everything from art tomes and cool planters to handmade jewelry and expertly curated vintage goods, this nouveau-beach-hippie haunt has come to define the aesthetic of the cultish Outer Sunset 'hood. Visit the shop and its backyard patio, and we dare you not to swoon a little.
General Store, 4035 Judah Street (between 45th and 46th avenues); 415-682-0600.

Mollusk Surf Shop
However, before there was General Store, there was OG Ocean Beach boutique Mollusk Surf Shop. This is where hardcore surfers go to scoop up boards and ocean wares, and more touristy types go to snag cool, graphic-print tees and sweaters, a knitted beanie, or a pair of sunnies. Surf-themed movies, books, and artwork is also available, and the in-store parties and gallery openings are not to be missed.
Mollusk Surf Shop, 4500 Irving Street (at 46th Avenue); 415-564-6300.

Establish
Ocean Beach's newest retail destination, this approachable, hodgepodge palace includes a mashup of plants, earthy home decor, jewelry, photography, woodwork, and a smattering of clothing. If you're looking to green up your space or bring some of that cool beachside vibe back home with you, this is your spot.
Establish, 3811 Noriega Street (between 45th and 46th streets); 415-563-5054.
