With its street performers and eccentric vendors, Venice is already a primo spot for people-watching, but this week, you can add artist-in-a-glass-box to the mix.
Yes, you read that right — L.A. artist Tyler Ramsey has taken up residence in an oversized box in front of the TOMS store. Why, you might ask? To create custom shoes and eyewear cases for you! All visitors have to do is call in and place an order, then watch him make your one-of-a-kind piece live.
The entire seven-day event will be streamed via Google+, making it the longest hangout in history. And, of course, it's all for a good cause, with proceeds from each pair of shoes or sunglasses going straight to children in need. Sure beats impersonal online shopping!
When: Now through Monday, July 29, orders taken from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
