Peep Inside NYC’s Coolest Tiny Apartment

[UPDATE: This story was originally published on November 3, 2014.] Buying an affordable apartment in New York City can be next to impossible. Seriously, we've done our research. But when you find a diamond in the real estate rough, you go for it and figure out a way to make it work.
One New York couple has proved that it is possible to make even the tiniest of spaces work — all it takes is a little creativity. According to Curbed NY, Jourdan Lawlor purchased this West 12th Street home three years ago for just $270,000. After a $33,000 renovation, she and fiancé Tobin Ludwig turned the teeny 242-square-foot abode into the apartment of their dreams. See, size really doesn't matter.
The interior decor is a perfect mix of classic and modern: The living room (complete with a white brick fireplace and a variety of antiques) doubles as a bedroom (a Murphy bed folds out from the wall); the bathroom features sliding reclaimed wood doors; the kitchen boasts updated appliances with butcher block-style countertops. Seriously, who knew small spaces could be so tricked out? (Curbed NY)
