Trashbag Aesthetics: Anycoloryoulike's Street Garbage Art Project

trashbag_main.jpgIn these days of "green fashion," refuse is out and recycling is hot hot hot. But just like our precious gladiators, every trend has its inevitable backlash. Perhaps quite soon, the counterculture kids will resume conspicuous consumption as a sign of their avant-garde credentials. In the meantime, an artist called Adrian has embarked on an art project that takes your neighborhood junk and dresses it up in beautiful bright polka dots. TRASH: anycoloryoulike features street presentations of the project's singular product, a lovely PVC, rodent-repelling trash bag available in a rainbow of colors. While the "Art Related Project (ARP)" promises to "transform individual neighborhoods through the participation of local business owners and residents seeking to beautify the city," right now we're all about dressing our coffee grounds, tissues, and banana peels in a lovely shade of pink.
