Hot Specs: Glasses Become a Turn On

When we read in the Observer article linked on the Huffington Post that glasses were more sexy than ever and that Sarah Palin, who in the eyes of the author uses specs to up her visual IQ, "looks like a librarian in a porn film," it got us thinking about a couple of things. First of all, the male interest in women with glasses is clear: Guys like to believe they can conquer anyone—particularly someone who is their intellectual better. As Dennis Miller said in his pre-Republican days, "It is every guy's dream, to take the most well-spoken, intelligent, articulate, savvy, well-mannered, quick-witted woman and reduce her to a slobbering, mono-syllabic beastess. We all have that fantasy of having Marie Curie turn to us, toss her hair to one side and say, 'Wear the purple condom lover.'" Classy, hunh? The other thing we thought of was the fact that it took America a good three years, an Emmy-Award Winning sitcom, and a gun-toting VP candidate to know what most hipsters figured out several seasons ago.
