As the temperature's descent forces us to transition from sandals to peep toes with tights and then to ankle boots and thick, nubby sock, we're beginning to realize that we've once again come to that point when wearing your fancy shoes means risking a bad case of frostbite. Though the weather's looking fair now, sub-zero temps and Jack Frost's icy wiles are just around the corner. To get you and your toes ready for the big chill, we've rounded up twelve sturdy boots that will stand up through wind, snow, and all that pesky, chalky road salt.
