Adam's Apple: Adam Relaunches Womenswear Basics

After stints at Ralph Lauren and Oscar de la Renta, designer Adam Lippes launched his own clothing line of luxe basics as Adam+Eve a few years back. Now, Lippes, with his own store in the Meatpacking District in tow, has relaunched as ADAM and is now showing his S/S '09 womenswear collection. What we saw looks slouchy and easy to wear and is made of quality, comfy fabrics like cashmere blends and pima cotton. Another thing that makes us comfy is the price tag, which is beyond reasonable for these smart, effortless everyday wardrobe boosters. Looks like a change of name did Lippes some good, since he's carried everywhere from Saks Fifth Avenue to Jeffrey New York. We all know that in an increasingly complex world, some good old fashioned basics can really bring us back down to earth.
