How To Dress For S.F.’s Between-Seasons Weather!

email
Is it fall? Indian summer? Something else altogether? We can’t really figure it out, either. But don’t let that throw you and your closet into a frenzy. Local lovely Krystal Bick, from the highly addictive blog This Time Tomorrow (she also holds down the fashion fort at Google!), came up with a perfectly S.F.-appropriate outfit that we can’t wait to copy. Want to cop her in-between-seasons steez, which includes an extra-cozy cable-knit and easy, breezy glittering mini? Just combine the five simple ingredients below, and it’s yours for the taking!

Essential #1: Cable-Knit Sweater—One quick solution to fighting the inevitable after-4 p.m. chill is a slightly oversized sweater to pull over your existing ensemble. We love the extra-cozy cable-knit and turtle-neck details on this one, plus the currently in-vogue deep maroon hue (hello '90s nostalgia!).

Cable-Stitched Sweater, $79.90, available at Zara, 865 Market Street (in the Westfield Shopping Centre); 415-817-5021.

Essential #2: Sequined Skirt—"The combination of sequins and a knit is rather unlikely," says Bick, "But that's what I love about it! It's fall attire, with a wink." We concur!

Robert Rodriguez Sequin-And-Bead Embellished Silk Skirt, $198, available at The Outnet.

Essential #3: Peep-Toe Booties—With so many soft and girly elements in this ensemble, these lace-up booties with an unexpected peep-toe silhouette add just the right amount of rock 'n roll attitude.

Dolce Vita Vince Open-Toe Bootie, $109.97, available at Endless.

Essential #4: Tortoise-Shell Sunglasses—Protect your peepers from the Indian summer sun with an always-classic pair of polarized frames edged in a super-stylish tortoise-shell pattern.
Warby Parker Everett Sunglasses, $95, available at Warby Parker and The Perish Trust, 728 Divisidero (between Fulton and Grove streets); 415-846-1637.

Essential #5: Bright Lips—Rain or shine, one instant face-brightening method is adding a swipe of vivid lipstick. One of Bick's signatures is this bright pink hue that you can scoop up for cheap at the drugstore.

Revlon Moon Drops Lipstick In Persian Melon 585, $8.48, available at Walmart.
