What began as a website that played to our voyeuristic side, letting us peek into the designer-laden digs of tastemakers, The Coveteur has evolved into a more varied chronicle of all things behind-the-scenes. From lifestyle to fashion to culture, this site examines the creative process, inspiration, and influence of the individuals who are defining our times.
The folks over at The Coveteur love playing to our voyeuristic side, and each week, the OG closet invaders will let us peek into the designer-laden digs of their — and our! — favorite tastemakers. Just one warning: The lust-worthy displays may cause an undying impulse to hang your jewels on your kitchen sink’s faucet. Now, let the swooning begin!
“When I was 10 years old, I asked my dad what he wanted me to be when I grew up. He said, “You can be whatever you want to be, baby.” That was the best advice I’ve ever gotten,” Clare Vivier told us. Fast-forward a few years (give or take!) and everyone (and their best friend) are running around town with Clare Vivier handbags: Kelly Oxford, Sophia Bush, Gaby Basora, Jenni Kayne… you get the point. So suffice to say she definitely chose the right path.RELATED: Who said fashion folk don't do carbs? Go inside Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast's West Coast pad.
Vivier invited us over to her picturesque California abode, which totally has that whole storybook white picket fence thing. Her charming space has this cosy, homey feeling that instantly makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside… but, seriously. It was kind of like checking into one of those quaint Bed and Breakfast cottages in some remote part of town that you never wanted to leave. Like a perfect host, Vivier layed out a delicious (not to mention, beautiful) spread of fancy cheese, charcuterie, nuts and a fresh baguette to boot; talk about #spreadlife. Despite the early call time, Vivier got the, er, party started a little early and poured us each a glass of Moët to sip while we styled. Take notes, future Coveteurs of the world. This is how you do it. (We kid, we kid.)RELATED: Ready to meet the leather jacket of your dreams? Oh, and the designer is sorta stunning, too. Meet Anine Bing.
