There's nothing more beautiful than when modern meets traditional — especially when it comes to weddings. Set at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York (with stunning views of the Hudson River and New Jersey), Sara and Renak said "I do" twice: first in an extravagant Jain ceremony to honor the groom's Indian heritage, and then in a classic Catholic one for the bride's family.

"Our wedding represented a joining of our love and friendship, and also a joining of our families of different religions and cultures," the bride told Style Me Pretty. "It was sometimes challenging to weave all of the important aspects of our cultures together, but we look back on the day with warmth and sheer satisfaction."

The couple's wedding day kicked off with what the bride calls a "colorfully animated" Jain wedding in the morning. Then, guests enjoyed lunch and attended the Catholic version, which the bride says was "quiet and serene," in the evening. Captured by photography duo Justin and Mary, the end result is all sorts of amazing. From the bride's two looks (a white Vera Wang gown and a red-and-gold, embroidered sari) to the dramatically different ceremonial decors, click ahead to see exactly why we love this juxtaposition of traditions.
