Castle Rock Hike: Not very athletic? Um, us either. But this hike will give you the Tahoe views you crave, without too much grunt work. Seriously, we did this 2-mile baby in a dress and Keds. Directions: From Basecamp Hotel, take Highway 207 East, travel 3 miles before you take a left on North Benjamin Drive (a sign reading Brautovich Park is your landmark). Drive a little ways to the parking area, and start your hike.

Action Sports: You’re in Tahoe, take advantage of the famed, see-through water. Go canoeing, standup paddle boarding, jet skiing, wave running — whatever, just make sure you explore the big blue! We opted for a round of wave running. There’s nothing quite like seeing nature’s coolest wonders while speeding around and feeling the fresh air on your face. Get on a personal watercraft. You’ll be glad you did!

Bike Ride: The elevation level can certainly make a seemingly breezy bike ride tougher than usual. But, don’t let that deter you from hopping on two wheels and seeing the scenes via a cycle. Either bring your own (we did!), or pop by one of the many bike rental facilities in town and wander the infinite trails of Tahoe. The employees at the shops are keen on recommending scenic routes. We suggest biking through the aforementioned Camp Richardson.
