Not heading to Outside Lands today? No problem. There are definitely other things to do this weekend, rather than freeze your tush off at Golden Gate Park. One option: SusieCakes' Fifth Birthday Party in the Marina! The throwback, all-American-style bakery is celebrating it's whopping five years in the city with a '50s beach party featuring DJs spinning surf-inspired tunes, temporary tattoos, coloring contests, and balloon art for the kiddies, and a free box of six mini red velvet cupcakes to the first 50 customers who make a purchase (starting at 12 p.m.). The same festivities will be happening at the bakeshop's Marin/Greenbrae location, too. Also, to celebrate its birth month, the bakery is hosting a Facebook recipe contest. Just submit your best five-ingredient dessert recipe on SusieCakes' Facebook page by August 31st and the the winner will have their treat on sale at the Marina sweet shop during September.
