We adored MYKITA x Herchcovitch's super-bright spring '11 collection—not to mention seeing one of our favorite California Gurls, Katy Perry, modeling them in Rolling Stone (yes, those teal ones on Perry are on sale in New York right now). So, when it came time to debut their spring '12 collection on their men's and women's runways far, far away from NYC in São Paolo, don't doubt we were once again ogling over the wonder-frames. For MYKITA x Herchcovitch 2012 it was about the influences of "vintage fabrics from the 1950's and 1960's whose intense colors have grown pale over the decade," says Alexandre Herchcovitch. For women this time around, the three perfectly round John Lennon-esque sunglasses switch from neon to neutral, moving to the subtle end of the spectrum with beige and rose tones; while the two men's shades are more pronounced with their sharp lines and dark blue and red with black lenses. Plus, all of the frames are made from indestructible aluminum, so if you drop your sunnies on the subway, you're in the clear! And check this...we hear that these shade stars will be gracing Herchcovitch's NYC runway show in September! Till then, to get your optical fix, pick up a pair at Robert Marc. It's cheaper than a nine hour flight to Brazil.
