The Street-Style Hunter

How have your roots inspired your style?

"I grew up in Great Neck, where everyone dressed alike and owned all the same things. I always knew I was destined to be different, but didn't have the resources to do so (besides my grandma's closet). Moving into the city (particularly downtown) has inspired my style. The West Village has some pretty amazing vintage and thrift stores, filled with hidden treasures that I find thrilling to discover. No one in my family understands fashion, which just motivates me more and more to share my passion and have others see fashion as art."

Who are your greatest style inspirations?

"Erin Wasson, Kate Moss, the Olsens, and my best friend Kelsey. Effortless style with an edgy flair. Each one embodies 'rawness' and are inspirations for not playing by the rules."

What is your favorite part of blogging?

"Sharing the fashion that makes the hair on my arms stand up tall, and providing inspiration for girls who simply don't know what to wear."

Tell us your favorite piece of style advice... or do you feel like you need some?

"You can never have too much style advice, especially if it's from someone older and wiser. My favorite piece of advice would be a quote I heard a few years ago by Diane Von Furstendberg, “The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself."

We Wore What

Last night I went to the Andrew Bucker FW12 Preview and the StyleLikeU House Party to kick off New York Fashion Week. Andrew Buckler is one of my favorite menswear lines that blends American iconography with a British edge; if you've been watching that new show Remodeled then you've seen a bit of one of his fashion shows. Party hopping on the LES, I met up with the Socialyte crew at SyleLikeU's pre-fashion week party. We were joined by Claire Geist of Delune, Natalie Suarez ofNatalieOffDuty, and Justin Livingston of Munrowe. It was a blast, to say the least.
