Hail to the Chief! Obama-rama Rules the Fashion Set

There's no doubt Obama-style infiltrated the masses, and political T-shirts are normally widespread during an election. But when Jane Aldridge pointed us to a Bruce Weber shot in Italian Vogue, we realized that the Barack-street-style look has actually gone high fashion. Daniela de Jesus and Ubah Hassan modeled Obama T-shirts with Rosie the Riveter-style cuffed sleeves, while paired with designer skirts and head pieces. On our own local streets, Eddie from Style Sightings captured Elle's Kate Lanphear in an Obama Mama styled with flannel, denim, and platform boots. We also spied artist, musician, and jewelry designer Rebecca Schiffman rocking an oversized Obama and Biden shirt as a dress, paired with black tights. And in the rest of the world, we're seeing Lookbook kids from the Netherlands to Michigan using Obama shirts as central inspiration for outfits as well. It reminds us of that amazing face T-shirt trend we reported on in November, but now with loads of hope and optimism thrown on top!
