Bold Brows
"I do love a bushy brow," says Mellinger. We wholeheartedly agree — one look at the enhanced arches backstage at Derek Lam, Jil Sander, Proenza Schouler, and a slew of other shows and we knew this was a look we needed to cop for ourselves posthaste.
Mellinger first used a spoolie to brush Danielle's brow hairs down — this created a line at the top of the brow that she used as a guide when she was filling them in. Using the pencil, she then began shading in the brow using light, feathery strokes, then combed the hair upwards and filled in as needed.
"I like the slanted pencil because the angle makes it easier to work with," she said. After brows were filled in, Mellinger brushed the hair up again and used the brow gel to hold the hairs in place. Eyes got a coating of mascara and the lips were given a soft flush of color by blotting the lipstick on using her finger.
