If there’s one thing we love more than quirky-cool fashion, it’s fashion with a function — after all, we’re busy. And, if it’s uncomfortable, poorly made, or doesn’t make us feel good, no thanks.

That’s why every time we hear about the next big thing in wearables, our ears perk up, hoping this will be the gadget that changes the game. The MICA, a jewel-encrusted smart bracelet designed by the brainiacs at Intel and the trendsetters at Opening Ceremony, is just that. It can receive text messages, calendar alerts, Yelp recs, and — let’s not forget — horoscopes, trend reports, styling tricks, and fashion news from yours truly. Plus, it may be the first wearable to not only fit in with but also enhance our best #OOTDs.

To show you exactly what we mean, we asked five of the most stylish women we know to try out (and try on) the bracelet. Ahead, see how each one makes it fit her look — it's all the inspiration you need to start brainstorming your own smart brilliant combos.

Kat Tanita, With Love From Kat

    Describe your personal style.
"Classic and feminine with a touch of bohemian."

How did you style the MICA?
"I paired it with my favorite gold watch and gold statement rings. The bracelet itself is so eye-catching that I wanted to let it be the focal point and keep the overall look on the simple side."

Why does the MICA work for you?
"Often, I'm running from meeting to meeting and my phone gets buried at the bottom of my bag, so I miss my calendar alerts. The MICA prevents that."

What's your number-one tip for a strong jewelry game?
"Don't be afraid to mix and match old and new — I love vintage pieces. I also love mixing different textures and colors, which the MICA has built in. It combines so many cool elements: leather, snakeskin, and semiprecious stones."

    Connie Wang, Style Director, Refinery29

    Describe your personal style.
"I'm a maximal minimalist — I don't like to wear clothes in a complicated way, but I do like clothes that make a statement on their own."

What kind of jewelry do you gravitate toward?
"My jewelry is comfortable, eclectic, and not too precious. I need to be able to wear it every day and have it match whatever I'm wearing. I'm currently working with a palette of gold and pearl, and the MICA fits right in."

Why does the MICA work for you?
"On the weekend, I see the friends I haven't seen all week, so I really value our face time. This bracelet helps me keep my phone in my purse and out of sight."

What's your number-one tip for a strong jewelry game?
"Less is more! And, it doesn't matter how much you spend on jewelry — it's one of the more personal items you can own. Make sure you actually have an emotional connection to it."

    Natalie Suarez, Natalie Off Duty

    Describe your personal style.
"Super-eclectic, bohemian, and rock 'n' roll. L.A. meets NYC."

What stood out to you about the MICA?
"It's just what a New Yorker needs: style mixed with practicality. And, since it's right on my wrist, it's a lot easier to just check, text, and go. The MICA is how I remind myself of everything I need to do — and I know I'll never drop it!"

So, how did you style it?
"Since this bracelet is a standout piece, I paired it with my more simple bracelets and rings: brass cuffs, turquoise, and gold."

And, the rest of your outfit?
"I'm wearing my favorite jeweled bohemian blouse and retro, high-waisted jeans. That gives this statement bracelet an earthy, spring feel."

What's your number-one tip for a strong jewelry game?
"Invest in pieces you have a strong attachment to. I love to mix bold, earthy stones and delicate basics. The more classic, the better."

    Serena Goh, The Spicy Stiletto

    Describe your personal style.
"Casual and consistent. I tend to gravitate toward very similar pieces — button-down shirts, black leather, high heels, and loafers."

What jewelry trends are you into right now?
"Dainty rings and all the styles of cuff rings."

How did you style the MICA?
"It's definitely a statement piece, so I balanced it out with an understated, small cuff. I would also wear it solo and let it complement my outfit."

What's your number-one tip for a strong jewelry game?
"Stick with what really speaks to your personal style."

Annie Georgia Greenberg, Senior Style Editor, Refinery29

    Describe your personal style.
"Urban, hippy, cowgirl grandma goes to the beach."

How did you style the MICA?
"I've never been a layered-up jewelry girl, but I like how the MICA is a statement piece that works for everyday. I added on a couple of gold bangles to balance it out. Though I like the way it looks against light denim, I also think the blue and white stones would stand out against an all-black summer look."

Why does the MICA work for you?
"I'm starting to get more and more into Yelp reviews, especially when I'm lost or outside of NYC. The MICA has them right there."

What's your number-one tip for a strong jewelry game?
"Focus on one area (hands, ears, neck) at a time."
