Teen Vogue Lures "Impressionable" Young Girls to the Mall

tv1030.jpg

Racked turned us on to this piece in the Times about Teen Vogue's new "Haute Spot" store in New Jersey's Short Hills Mall, "a place for girls to relax, try on clothes and drink smoothies—all while marketers woo them." While we do read TV with utter regularity (no really, we have a whole shelf of them in the office—stop looking at us like that) this novel publishing/retail concept strikes us as equally brilliant and creepy. Said TV publisher Laura McEwen, "They're at that age where they're very impressionable and aspirational. They want contact." Uhh…we're pretty sure we saw a Dateline expose about this. Yick. (Racked)
