Trade Routes: Hunting down Gifts in Williamsburg

Got a couple of hours to kill in a particular neighborhood? We've got a list of hot shops to hoof it to for the perfect presents...It's time to get back in touch with your primal hunting and gathering instincts. This city has it's fair share of prime shopping 'hoods, but let's say you want to avoid the Soho crowds or the West Village snob parade. Might we suggest you hop on the L train to Brooklyn's shopping paradise, Williamsburg? Should you take our advice (and you should), we've got a guide to the goods:
Moon River Chattel, 62 Grand Street, (718) 388-1121
Why? This cosy shop has Linens 'n Things beat! Grab some lush and warm housewares for the ultimate domestic diva on your list.
What to Get: Hemp bath linens, assorted shabby-chic pots or the Mud Australian porcelain are all to die for.
Sprout Home, 44 Grand Street, (718) 388-4440
Why? Because this little gem of a place is for anyone with a green thumb, or at least wishes they had one. With winters gloomier weather here, we all need a little green in our life.
What to Get: Garden in a bag, Eggling planters, adorable birdfeeders
In God We Trust, 135 Wythe Ave, (718) 388-2012
Why? Because we've always been a fan of Shana Tabor's sweet, simple and romantic designs.
What to Get: We already everything of hers we want from our own shop, but who couldn't use a simple black dress, an adorable beret or an arrowhead necklace from the line?
Catbird, 219 Bedford Ave, (718) 599-3457
Why? It's eclectic and fun and has a bunch of under the radar designers.
What to get: Check out their jewelry trunk shows each Thursday through December and their shoes are all on clearance! Go! Now!
