Hit the Hamptons With Our Cheat-Sheet For What's Cool, New, and Fun
There's no avoiding it—one of these weekends, we New Yorkers are all going to have to pack a bag and escape to the Hamptons. While the world's most famous weekend destination has sadly become a tad predictable over the years, every summer the tide does indeed bring in a few new surprises. So, in-between trips to the beach, be sure to check out our top 10 list of the latest and greatest Hamptons hot spots.

Melet Mercantile—The appointment-only SoHo showroom takes on Montauk this summer with a sort of "clubhouse" featuring beachy antiques and vintage clothing. 102 Industrial Road, Montauk, 631-668-9080.

Temperley London—Temperley's first ever Hamptons pop-up features French antiques, crystal chandeliers, and, of course, ultra-girly dresses and separates, perfect for a dinner party or outdoor benefit. And to celebrate, every 50th shopper will get a $250 gift voucher, valid through December. 53 The Circle, East Hampton ,www.temperleylondon.com.

Steven Alan Bazaar—We're still psyched about Alan's temporary summer home, decorated with the designer's own trove of basement kitsch. 52 Newtown Lane, East Hampton; www.stevenalan.com.

Screaming Mimi's—This downtown staple of vintage cool will be stocking an exclusive artist capsule collection from RVCA at their Montauk location this summer, with graphic tees from Ben Horton, Matt Furie, and more. Plus, they're only $45. Grab a few to throw on over your swimwear or to pair with your favorite denim shorts. 662 Montauk Highway, Montauk, www.screamingmimis.com.

Madewell —J.Crew's sister store brings its unique brand of offbeat-cool to the shore this summer, along with a sampling of vintage accessories, an antiques collection, and weekly how-to sessions with local artists and artisans. 20 Newtown Lane, East Hampton, 631-324-0363; www.madewell1937.com.

Roberta Roller Rabbit—Exotic wares sourced from far-flung locales like Nepal and Argentina are on display at Roberta Freymann's eponymous East Hampton boutique as well as this sunshiny pop-up. Kurtas and kimonos share floor space with swimsuits, beach bags, and hostess gifts like quilts and dishware. 53d Jobs Lane, Southampton; www.robertafreymann.com.

Nikki Eve—With an emphasis on British designers, this store provides a carefully edited selection of "unearthed vintage" so you can spend less time browsing and more time buying. The store also features the owner's own line of "healing" jewelry, whatever that means. 17 Madison Street, Sag Harbor; www.nikkieve.net.
Blue Parrot—The much-hyped Tex-Mex is open again for the summer, complete with margaritas, quesadillas, and karaoke. 33a Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-3609.

c/o The Maidstone—The historical Maidstone Arms has preserved its all-American façade but its decked-out the interior with Scandinavian style. The hotel's Nordic chill is accented by eco-conscious initiatives like free bike rentals, organic cotton sheets, and a restaurant grounded in the slow food movement. 207 Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-5006; www.themaidstone.com.

Solé East—Last year we leapt at the thought of this getaway's awesome scenery and recreational options. This summer you can go for all of that plus weekly pool parties courtesy of downtown night-spot Chloe 81, as they bring their regular Ivy party eastward for the summer months. 90 Second House Road, Montauk, 631-668-2105; www.soleeast.com.
