New Nonfiction On The Tragic Loss Of Style Stunner Sharon Tate

You know we're not ones to get all gruesome on you, but there are some topics that occasionally bridge the gap between our love of fashion and style and cold, harsh reality. Case in point: The grim loss of actress Sharon Tate and her unborn child — we've always idolized the effervescent beauty's timeless style, and still get chills thinking of the senseless outcome of her short life (she was only 26). There aren't even words for a tragedy of that magnitude. Well, a new book titled
Restless Souls: The Sharon Tate Family's Account of Stardom, the Manson Murders, and a Crusade for Justice
was released this week, and after 40 years, close family friend Alisa Statman and Sharon’s niece Brie Tate somehow found closure.

We haven't read it yet, but apparently it's the most comprehensive look at the life and death of Sharon published yet, including interviews with the Tates, personal letters, recordings, home movies, public interviews, private journals, and official documents. With the upcoming parole of her murderer (we don't even want his name on our site) this year, and as fellow young Angelenos, we think this is an important read. May we suggest balancing out the heavy material with something more sunny and inspirational like pictures of the blonde beauty in her heyday?
