The Meditation Master
Ed Halliwell, Mindfulness teacher at The School of Life and author of The Mindful Manifesto
“Mindfulness mediation enables us to more be in our experiences more fully. It’s dark, it’s cold,
it’s the beginning of the week. By cultivating a meditative practice, we have an opportunity to experience these
feelings in a lighter way and really be here for this time. Think: How can I enjoy this? How can I make
my life more enjoyable right now? It might be going for a walk or experiencing the crispness of the
winter air. It might be about feeling the freshness of winter and the magic of this time. We tend to
think ‘Oh, god, here we go again,’ but when we come back to the present through mediation, look
inward, and see that there are some interesting moments to have, when spring finally does
come around, we’re in a better position to enjoy it.”
