As the temps along with our hemlines begin to rise, there's really nothing cooler (literally) than escaping to a double-feature in a dark, air-conditioned theater. Taking inspiration from summer blockbuster season—and because we are beyond smitten with steamy solstice cinema—our movie-crazed minds compiled a handful of freaky flicks that seamlessly fuse scary with sexy. Think sultry psychological thrillers, hot-and-heavy trysts fueled by near-fatal car wrecks, sensual blood-sucking, and rousing make-out sessions with cold-blooded monsters. Let the hot summer movies begin…



Bram Stoker's Dracula, 1992
Frances Ford Coppola's horror masterpiece Bram Stoker's Dracula heats up the screen with Gary Oldman as the original blood-sucker who seduces a naïve Winona Ryder, gets down in wolf form with a lusty damsel, and hooks up an unsuspecting Keanu Reeves with a harem of voracious femme vamps. Talk about love bites.

Cat People, 1982
Feline horror flick Cat People features stunning sexpot Natassja Kinski as an undeniably hot werecat who becomes a carnivorous panther post-coitus. We can't decide whether it's her reluctance to bed co-star John Heard or his tie-me-up tactics that makes us blush more.



The Vampire Lovers, 1970
Taking lovers and turning them into victims, lady vampire Marcilla, played by a bedroom-haired voluptuous Ingrid Pitt, revs up this 19th-century-meets-'70s retro scream flick with some fangs-out fantasy worthy girl-on-girl scenes.


Dead Ringers, 1988
Psycho-thriller poster boy Jeremy Irons plays a set of sex-crazed gynecologist twins in this mind-bending film. Obsessed with female genitalia and swapping women, this double vision of Irons is two-times the scary-sexy quota.



Daughters of Darkness, 1971
This stylized vampire flick about a young honeymooning couple and a sadistic-yet-sexy vampiress is light on clichéd fang-action but heavy on the skin-on-skin contact.



Crash, 1996
Sex in cars will always get your motor running, but the creepy combo of sex and car crashes pumps up the steam factor in this psychologically sick flick about an unlikely couple who meet after a car wreck. Take it from us, this auto-fetishist film was rated NC-17 for good reason.



Lost Highway, 1997
Identity-shifting, murder, a high-end porn ring, and a memorable sand-on-skin desert sex scene makes David Lynch's twisted cinematic tale a perfect fusion of psychological horror and balls-out sensuality.



Possession, 1981
The epitome of scary-sexy, Possession is about a Berlin woman who ditches both her hubby and her lover for the sexual healing of a tentacled monster that she meets for marathon sweat sessions in a cheap motel.



Rosemary's Baby, 1968
There's nothing more horrifically hot than doing it devil-style. Just ask a pixie-ish Mia Farrow who does the deed with an embodiment of Satan in classic flick Rosemary's Baby. This movie gives the saying "devilishly sexy" a whole new meaning.



The Hunger, 1983
This New Wave-styled vampire movie features one of the best looking love triangles with David Bowie as a living-dead lover-boy, the body con-clad immortal killer Catherine Deneuve, and Susan Sarandon who plays a doctor lured into her dark passion. It's truly the ladies' lip-locking that heats up this goth'tastic horror show.



Cemetery Man,1994
Rupert Everett's got the ultimate dead-end job in this stylish Italian creepfest. Charged with beheading the deceased residents of his dark, Kafkaesque town before they reanimate, Rupe is only able to steal a few hot minutes with the bountiful Anna Falchi atop a sarcophagus amid the campy carnage.



La Bête, 1975
This French erotic horror film caused quite a stir upon its release because of vivid depictions of suggested bestiality, full-frontal male and female nudity, and gratuitous shots of the beast's enormous nether regions. A hardcore version of "Beauty and the Beast," anyone?
