Handbag Designer Sang A Sings To Our Indulgent Side

We tend to stay on the subtle end of the spectrum when it comes to accessories, but sometimes we're in the mood for something that just screams luxury. Enter South Korean-born accessories designer Sang A Im-Propp. The spring 2011 lookbook for her NYC-based handbag line Sang A is total eye-candy for the opulently inclined. The collection consists of oversized totes, roomy hobos, chic little clutches, and one crazy/brilliant fringed belt, all crafted in exotic skins and leathers. In addition to designing a completely worship-worthy line of handbags, Sang A is a regular Renaissance woman—a former professional dancer and singer, she released three albums and achieved celeb status in South Korea all by the tender age of 26, before moving to NYC to pursue fashion at The Parson School of Design. While each piece is undeniably luxe (materials include alligator, stingray, and eel skins), the collection as a whole is a study in contrasts: Sumptuous, slouchy duffels in charcoal python or mint blue fish scale provide the perfect foil for an angular, black-and-white, graphic-printed leather clutch.
