Shop It NowGet To Know Rising Design Star Chadwick Bell At Wilkes Bashford Today!
One upside to our sometimes-warm, oftentimes-foggy summer days? The fact that dreamy fall layers are always appropriate. Which is why you'll find us at Wilkes Bashford today, trying to squeeze in a little one-on-one time with young talent Chadwick Bell.
Sure, Donna Karan's S.F. cameo may be garnering much buzz about town, but we're all for supporting stars-on-the-rise, too. The SoCal-born Bell will be on hand to present his fall '12 collection — think Anjelica Huston-inspired jumpsuits and tuxedo jackets — and answer guests' questions. (One we have: "Um, may we borrow Elizabeth Banks' Vanity Fair Oscar party dress?!")
Plus, if you think Bell's silver-fox coat and leather separates are hard to resist, wait 'til you see the designer himself. Hubba hubba!
When: Friday, May 18, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Where: Wilkes Bashford, 375 Sutter Street (between Grant Avenue and Stockton Street); 415-986-4380.

Hot Off The Press: Our Fave Indie Emporium Launches A Mag
Whenever we’re itching for a surge of sartorial inspiration, we head over to one of woman-about-town Jenny Chung’s bustling boutiques for under-the-radar goodies. There's never any doubt that ACRE/SF and Acrimony will have a stash of hard-to-find designer pieces that seriously strike our fancy — it’s almost dangerous. Yep, we have major love for the wares, cheeky accessories, velvety cups of brew, and of course, the blog brimming with insider updates.
So, when we caught wind they Chung was launching the second edition of her in-house magazine — we had to see the cool keepsake, stat. The ACRE/SF and Acrimony aesthetic is embodied across a slew of glossy pages featuring stylish editorials and enviable items (and not to mention a brilliantly penned intro). ANATHEMA is an in-depth look at the behind-the-scenes shots the team has been busting out over the weeks. “We spend more time doing photography than anyone would ever imagine,” explained Chung. “We are always shooting editorial, simply because we all love to style and be creative in front of the camera. A lot of amazing shots are never seen by anyone outside of our team. We thought we should be sharing what we're working on since we're so proud of the work we do," she said. Click through for a peek at the captivating snaps, and be sure to see the ‘zine in its entirety here, or mosey on by the shops for a hard copy.

2012 Treat: Cult Decor Shop Stuff Is Doubling In Size!

Looking to upgrade your pad in the new year? Then you'll be absolutely delighted to hear that the cult-followed vintage decor shop Stuff, which counts Steven Alan among its fans, is doubling in size in early 2012!
The folks at the sprawling 8,000-square-foot shop, which is, well, stuffed from wall to wall with everything from art-deco antiques and mid-century finds, tell us they're about to take over the space directly overhead to create a giant 17,000-square-foot monster store!
The new expansion will include approximately 50 new vendors, as well as extra room for some of the vendors on the first floor. Although it's not totally set in stone, the new and improved Stuff is looking to debut on February 3, a week before the furniture-and-knickknack emporium's one-year anniversary on Friday, February 10.

The Most Adorable Shop Dogs In San Francisco
No doubt about it, San Francisco is a dog-lovers' city. And not only
are our pooches grinning wide as they run leash-less through our
lovely parks, holding court curb-side at the trendiest restaurants,
they’re also—and perhaps most adorably!—serving as official mascots
for some of the best boutiques in town. To celebrate their utter
heart-melting qualities, we documented a gaggle of shop pups in their
natural (and terribly chic) environments. Of course, their owners got
a little love, too. Click through our over-the-top cute slideshow, cue
the awwwwwws, and be prepared to get over your just-back-from-vacation
blues in a snap.
