Shop It NowDouble Whammy: Shop Two Brand-Spankin'-New Collections At Conifer, Thursday
We’re not gonna lie: Retail hotspot Conifer houses a roster of impressive wares that perpetually send us into a spending frenzy. Boasting in-demand lines by the likes of Rachel Comey, Karen Walker, and MM6, they basically have all of our shopping cravings covered — so we didn’t really think the Cow Hollow boutique could get any cooler. But, it looks like it has proven us wrong and seriously upped the ante. Not only is the lauded shop dabbling in design and launching an in-house line (hooray!), but it’s also throwing a must-hit fete to celebrate.
Swing by the store for an exciting preview of Conifer’s new spring ’12 collection, which promises to be a creative mix of classic fabrics, bold prints, and quintessential S.F.-girl garb. But, wait — the event is a double whammy. While you’re there, you can also peep threads from another hip Bay Area designer, Sarah Tejada. Like we said, double the fun. So, roll on by for a chance to soak in two stellar S.F. collections — plus, dig into some champy and cupcakes. Yum.
When: Thursday, April 19, 5 to 9 p.m.
Where: Conifer, 2848 Webster Street (at Union Street); 415-922-1892.

Watch: Learn How To Thrift Like A Pro With This Genius Tutorial
Properly patrolling S.F.’s slew of secondhand havens is really a bit of an art form. And as much as we dig the treasure trove, when it comes to rifling through our fave Bay Area vintage shops, we’re not masters (yet!).
That’s why we turn to the in-the-know thrifting queens to school us on the ins and outs of the hunt. And there's no one we trust more than vintage-obsessed fashion darling (and R29 fave) Ashley Ording of Fancy Fine. She’s steering us to her much buzzed-about Haight Street vaults from La Rosa to Held Over. Follow Ashley along Haight Street in this cutesy vid (complete with classical music to set the tone!), and see where she scores her covetable garb. And tell us, what are your must-hit Haight Street shops?

Another Frida Kahlo-Inspired Fashion Moment, This Time From BellJar
Nothing gives us that gotta-have-it oomph of inspiration quite like a dreamy, color-soaked lookbook. A well-shot collection can take us from cabin fever to the Caribbean in less than five seconds flat — and we love that. And there’s no shop that does decorative, embellished ambiance like the now bi-Cali boutique BellJar.
So, it only makes sense we’d go gaga over this lookbook, which shows off a compilation of brand-spankin’-new spring 2012 ensembles. Shot on location in owner Sasha Darling's new Silverlake apartment (she's S.F.-L.A. now!), the lookbook features SoCal ladies channeling their inner Frida Kahlos, posing against Mexican-inspired backdrops with flowers in their hair.
“This spread was shot in my new Spanish-style Silverlake apartment," Sasha explains. "I've always had an appreciation for Frida Kahlo. She was such a strong, talented woman who endured so much, and expressed it through her art and style. BellJar's rich patterns, and my lovely new apartment lent themselves to paying an homage to her as an idol."
We are eyeing quite a few of these pretty, patterned pieces. Pick your favorites from the after the jump.
