Fashion Plates: What To Wear To The Bay’s Hottest New Eateries

Hi-Lo BBQ
Less than a month old, Hi-Lo BBQ is the latest to offer an intriguing Cali spin on old-fashioned barbecue. The result? Hard Cider Braised Pork Loin and Grilled Flanken Short Ribs in a sleek, wood-paneled space for starters. We're also pretty enamored with the tranquil Ocean Beach painting that provides a pop of color against the muted tones. The resto is the latest collaboration from the folks behind other Mission eateries Maverick and Hog and Rocks, so we know we’re in for finger-lickin’-good dishes. The industrial-cool restaurant is the perfect place to don urban-city-dweller-meets-Southern-belle attire — that's casual yet somewhat gussied up, too. This Thakoon vested frock paired with edgy Jeffrey Campbell boots and a fun necklace and clutch should do the trick.
Hi-Lo BBQ, 3416 19th Street (between Mission and San Carlos streets); 415-874-9211.
