How have you seen the platform or the content change since
you first started?
"The content has certainly shifted. There are a lot more brands looking to reach
folks using Pinterest now that the user base has exploded. And, it seems like
there are more pins featuring nail polish applications than might
normally be deemed healthy."
What’s your favorite subject-slash-category to pin?
"My three most pinned-to boards also happen to be my favorites. My Maison board lets me catalog
my slightly eccentric taste in architecture and furnishings. I veer between
quirkily opulent and monastically spare. Good Taste Plus a Dash of Vulgarity
combines people I find iconic, street-style shots, sartorial recommendations,
and atmospheric portraits. Take Care Of The Luxuries and the necesseties take
care of themselves provides an umbrella for my thoughts on living playfully,
thoughtfully, and well. It’s a board about the details that make everyday life fun."
Where else do you go to find online inspiration?
"There are a spate of online magazines and small boutiques that I check in
with regularly to see what’s new. The interiors and photography in Milk magazine, the jewelry at French Garment Cleaners, and the
design coverage at T magazine have been top of the
list recently, but there are a whole host of design and lifestyle blogs, far too
numerous to name, that overrun my Google Reader daily. I love it."
