Fashion Issue Face-Off! See How Your Fave S.F. Glossies Stack Up

mag
While we aren’t particularly jazzed about the fact summer is over, instead of woefully bidding it (and summer Fridays) adieu, we’re looking on the bright side. We're relishing in the greatest plus about the calendar change: fall fashion. A couple of our fave regional glossies are going head-to-head with comprehensive, fashion-packed September issues highlighting by-the-Bay style. San Francisco magazine and 7x7 — both of which have seen some major revamps in the last few months — showcased some pretty heavy-hitting subjects, and we're here to break 'em down for you. See our recap below and let us know in the comments which mag you think came out on top!

Cover: 7x7 actually doubled the fun this month with two separate covers. One featuring a color-soaked capture of a model shot on Rodeo Beach. The other, a repurposed image of local musician Christopher Owens shot by Hedi Slimane for Slimane's exhibit “California Song.” Although this photo has been on the designer-slash-photographer's popular site for some time now, this is the first time the pic has been published in print.

Fashion Features:

Earth, Wind, and Fire — A dreamy (and fashionable) walk along Rodeo Beach, including a stunning model posing in bold lace numbers, blazers, and pretty printed frocks from Mulberry, Alexander McQueen, Peter Som, and more. Styled by new fashion director Lauren Goodman and shot by Louis Christopher, this dreamy fall feature breaks out the big guns.

Style Council — Style Council 2012 is a documentation of the best and brightest S.F. style stars of the moment (including our own Katie Hintz-Zambrano) who moved from the Big Apple and are heating things up out West. Get a glimpse at the city’s heaviest hitters rocking some pretty standout duds. Styled by R29 fave Anette Nyseth, written by Allison McCarthy and Schuyler Bailey, and shot by Nadya Wasylko, it's a fun look at the loveliest faces of the S.F. (by way of NY) style set.
