We LOVE your tree-themed poster bed! What's the story there?
"This is a good example of how our apartment developed organically. Our bedroom was quite simple before, with just an Ikea platform bed. The first thing we did was invite a good friend to paint a mural on one wall of a fantastical landscape with birch trees. Then, it just so happened that another friend moving to California was giving away the birch tree trunks that now make up the framework on our bed. We rigged up the wood posts with some rope, added a mosquito net so we can keep our windows open on pleasant nights, and now we feel like we are on a mini camping trip in a magical forest every night when we go to bed."
