Of all the homes we talk our way into, artists' apartments are the pièce de résistance. And, when we heard about watercolorist and illustrator Samantha Hahn's Park Slope place, our interest was especially piqued. The mother of a toddler (and eight months along with baby number two!) recently released a book (Well-Read Women), and illustrated the last four issues of the Paris Review. Talk about leaning in.
Based on such a creative resume, we imagined her studio to be a chaos of color. Instead, her Brooklyn nest is an A+ example of a clean aesthetic with just the right pops of graphic prints. It's a lesson in restraint and balance that's inspiring us to choose the right pieces for our own space.
