What do you get when you combine happy hour with a serious DIY session? Well, besides some extra-inspired creative brainstorming (who doesn’t love crafting with a cocktail in hand?), you get the Renwick Gallery’s Handi-Hour.
The event gives attendees the chance to get creative, sip craft beers, and take in some live music in the Grand Salon. The gallery has pros on hand to offer guidance on the night's featured projects: duct-tape wallets and T-shirt necklaces. (If you have a favorite tee you want to use, feel free to bring it along, or use one provided by the gallery.) There's a Sit 'n' Knit corner that welcomes newbies and experienced knitters and crocheters, plus a scavenger hunt through the permanent collection. The prize? Crafty goodies, as well as free tickets to the next Handi-Hour.
