Rebecca Hall Opens Up About Love…& Texting With Iron Man

We can't decide what's more difficult for actresses: Having to be in the spotlight 24/7, or having any and all details about your love life emblazoned on the cover of every tabloid, glossy, and website across the land. To be sure, both difficulties most likely feel harder for someone like Rebecca Hall, who struggles with her shyness and chooses to keep mum on personal details — until now, anyway.
In the May issue of InStyle, Rebecca remains private on her personal relationships, but is less reluctant on the business of love itself, saying that she still believes that it can be long lasting. Plus, she makes the very valid point that she was the only one who cared about her love life before she dated Sam Mendes. "It’s what happens when you start going out with a famous person and are a bit famous yourself, I guess. It’s their problem though. Everyone can be interested but I’m still not going to talk about it." Of course, the trouble with her relationship with Sam is that most people see it in the context of his previous relationship with Kate Winslet.

In this interview, Hall is essentially claiming an identity for herself that isn't "the other woman" or "girlfriend of that famous guy." She delves into her new friendship with Robert Downey Jr., who she describes as her "text buddy" and who she met while filming the upcoming Iron Man 3. Oh, and she showcases her androgynous style to great effect. But, most of all, she becomes an official R29 girl crush. The May issue hits newsstands April 4, but in the meantime, check out the video below for a sneak peek.
