Raising the Standard: Acne’s New Line

acne_newstandard
Seems Copenhagen Fashion Week is already paying dividends. Just yesterday, hip Scandinavian clothiers Acne revealed their latest line, New Standard. It's sharp and casual, in keeping with the carefully maintained Acne mold. But creative director Jonny Johansson and his team have added a new twist: This women's line is all about menswear.

Taking a cue from the time-honored tradition of scooping your boyfriend's clothes off the floor, New Standard mixes male looks into a sleek, sexy collection. As Johansson says in the press release, "One morning not too long ago I was walking through New York's Tribeca as the city was waking up. Coming towards me I saw a young woman cycling resolutely on some kind of racing bike. She was dressed in the greatest way. Effortlessly mixing a formal suit jacket with sporty leggings and cycling shoes, she wore her heavy bike chain as well as a sober leather bag around her chest." Perhaps in an effort to completely recreate that moment, Acne has also released a branded bike to complement the collection. While we don't have availabilities as of yet, we'll be keeping an eye out for them (and Johansson's biking muse as well.)
