Jeepers, Creepers! Are These Thick-Soled Shoes Keepers?

creepers-refinery29-0226.jpg

If you're feeling fashionably sinister lately, beware: there's something creepy lurking just around the street corner. Featured in recent spreads of i-D and Nylon, and the runways of Armand Basi and others, creeper-style platforms are not the apparition we originally thought them to be. Now haunting the closets of chic bloggers like Susie Bubble, their galumphing soles traverse nostalgic terrain for old-school Goths, punks, and rockabilly aficionados alike. But if you're not down with the Teddy Boys or the Goth Lolitas (or re-visiting those short-lived days), diffused interpretations of the look are available from the likes of Penny Loves Kenny, who incorporate trendy leopard and zebra prints, or Chloë Sevingy's new Bass/Opening Ceremony line which features some natty creeper-inspired boots. So, are these babies sharp or scary? You tell us.
