We're not gonna lie: The combo of "trunk show" and "jewelry" is more than enough to tear us away from our desks and motivate us out the door. So, natch, today's Queen Bee Designs trunk show on Capitol Hill has already piqued our interest. But, finding out that the statement gemstone pieces by local designer Allison Priebe Brooks will be marked down by as much as 50% — seriously, prices start at $5 — is helping us get our cardio fix for the week.
We're big fans of the collection's bold and bright necklaces — think chunky collars of turquoise, agate, sparkly lapis, and stunning coral — and the pieces have been sported by the likes of Michelle Obama, Ann Romney, and more. Not in the market for baubles? Scarves, handbags, and other accessories will also be available. The event runs until 8 p.m. tonight, which means you don't have to skip out of work early to check it out — but if you decide to do so, we won't tell a soul.
