Dying New York Dog Goes On The Most Amazing Vacation Ever

Fifteen years ago, Neil Rodriguez (a.k.a. DJ Neil Armstrong) of Flushing, Queens, adopted eight-week-old Poh the Dog from a shelter. Quickly, Poh and Rodriguez built a best friendship bound to last a lifetime. Down the road, though, they received bad news from the vet: Poh had bad kidneys and was going to die.
The boys decided to do something about it. Rather than Rodriguez shipping out to an upcoming gig in Arizona alone, he and his fiancée decided they'd all go — man, future wife, and best friend. Thus began Poh's big adventure, an Instagram-chronicled cross-country road trip in which the pitbull-lab mix hit all of America's greatest and grandest destinations.
"I think some people might have already put their dog down at this point, but he still has these bursts of energy. If Poh has taught me anything, it's that we can't give up — we gotta live," Rodiguez told People.
Poh padded the Hollywood Walk of Fame, threw down in Vegas, rolled on grass in D.C., and became an Internet star along the way. Proud papa Rodriguez spoke with R29 about some of the trip's greatest shots, now that the trio's made it home to New York City.
