Wish You Were Here: A Shop Owner's London Fashion Week Diary
Along with her twin sister, shop owner Candice Waldron looks after one of our favorite Brooklyn boutiques, Jumelle. When she told us she was headed to London Fashion Week to troll for inspiration and new talent, we definitely wanted to get onboard. Here are some highlights...

"A good start to the week—the Luella show in the lovely Crystal Palace in Hyde Park. The show was a hot ticket and quite a scene. A mix of floral dresses, Chanel-esque tweed and boucle suits and cropped trousers were presented in 'bright, garish, sick' colors that ended up being 'tough, pop and graphic.' All clothes that I want to wear, artfully styled. You'll definitely see these popping up this spring at Jumelle."

"At Fashion Week, it's not just about what's on the runway, but equally what's off the runway. These were two of my favorite looks."

"A hot and sunny Sunday in Shoreditch—one of my favorite parts of London. The area is multicultural, bohemian, and artistic...a very stimulating scene. Everyone was out and there was no shortage of food, vintage clothing stalls, or live music."

"It was a pleasure to see Peter Jensen's show in his adopted hometown. Always inventive and witty, the collection channeled Jodie Foster in some of his favorite films, like Freaky Friday and The Hotel New Hampshire. The show also included collaborative pieces with illustrator Julie Verhoeven. Best looks: printed two-piece suit and black dress with colorful roses...all coming to Jumelle this spring."

Left: "The Evening Standard headlines always catch my eye—it's as though they are hand-written in big fat black marker...traditional and imperfect." Right: "That's me...on the bus at night."

"Fashion Break at Daunt Books. No Barnes & Noble, the Edwardian bookshop with long oak galleries and skylights, is another one of my must-visit London spots."

"Beautiful chaos. Dover Street Market is Rei Kawakubo's mecca of avant-garde fashion; it is achingly cool, very inspiring and full of artistic wonder."

"More highlights from the London catwalk." Left: "At Emma Cook Swarovski crystals, like water drops, glimmered on a transparent rain coat...Glam." Middle: At Eley Kishimoto, known for pushing print and design boundaries, there was no topping the couple's flash-print crash helmet. Right: "Louise Goldin, London's Golden Girl. This was one of the shows I anticipated most. Her designs are futuristic, innovative, striking and all knitted."

"I met up with Berliner Sabrina Dehoff, an accessories designer who just introduced her first women's wear collection in London. Her clothes are for the 'one of a kind, individual woman, who will wear them with a smile and a kind of nonchalance.' Spring looks are inspired by nature and there are some beautiful landscape prints."

"More off-the-runway looks I loved."
