Cultural Cool: What To Wear To Phillips After 5

Slidefinal
For a few of us (or maybe it's just us?), it can be pretty tough to leave the house when it's freezing outside. All we have to do is think about an icy wind gusting under our hemlines, and we're ready to skip even the most fantastic events in favor of curling up in something fleece or flannel. But there are plenty of amazing opportunities that merit getting off the couch — and one of our favorites, the Phillips Collection's monthly Phillips After 5 event — happens tonight.
We know, we know — an eight o'clock date with your duvet sounds pretty great, but we've done the hard part for you by picking out your outfit. Since tonight's French theme incorporates musical performances, language lessons, and a gallery talk on Degas, we opted for super-cool, ahead-of-the-curve pieces to help you channel your inner Emmanuelle Alt, with a little velvet and some mixed prints thrown in for good measure. So, postpone tonight's rendezvous with reruns and takeout, throw on this good-to-go getup, and indulge your artsy side.

When: The first Thursday of the month, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; click here for additional dates and details.
