Party On: Anna Sheffield for Cole Haan

When one thinks of Anna Sheffield and her edgy-elegant creations, Cole Haan isn't exactly the first thing that comes to mind. But the classic—albeit conservative—fashion mainstay flexed its adventurous muscles last night by introducing a new collaboration with the designer to celebrate its 80th Anniversary.

Some of New York's most influential downtowners, (e.g. Cheryl Dunn, Jauretsi Saizarbitoria, Eric Foss, Scott Campbell, Julia Frakes, Arden Wohl, Jake Sumner, Lucy Cooper) gathered to celebrate the launch of Anna Sheffield for Cole Haan: two jewelry collections, handbags and, perhaps most obvious, redesigned pennies for their penny loafers. The night began with a dinner party at the Box, hosted by Cole Haan CEO Jim Seuss and Paper Magazine, with a live performance by The Citizens Band. Afterward, Anna's brother Kevin Kearney, hosted the first of a series of parties at Socialista, where Anna herself, feather in hair, fingers rimmed in her own designs and tattooed to perfection, led a group of refreshingly uninhibited, Jameson-sipping scenesters to the dance floor. Othelo Gervacio, profiled in Nike's "The Young and the Bangin'" project, made his DJ debut, spinning until 3am when the revelers, loafers, tattoos, and all, shuffled out to the whirring traffic of West Street.
