Lighting the Torch: Opening Ceremony's Olympic Retail Celebration

Olympic spirit (which in this case included Champagne) flowed in Soho Friday night as Opening Ceremony's entire fanclub showed up for the store's celebration of the Beijing games.

The private party commemorating the start of a very long weekend, the gathering was followed by 60 hours of properly themed events including "Olympic" manicures (enthusiastically endorsed by showroom director Olivia Kim), games, special musical performances, sports screenings, and, as one would expect, a ping-pong tourney hosted by jewelry designer Philip Crangi.

Whether the guests were watching CheerNY's spirit-rousing routines, enjoying the vintage Good Humor and Calxico taco truck offerings, or simply chatting and perusing the store's Olympic souvenir merchandise, it was a gold-medal-worthy night.
