French Fashion and the California Sound: April77 Fall Preview at Acrimony

This weekend, Hayes Valley's new cutting-edge shop Acrimony hosted a preview of Parisian label April77's fall 2008 collection, along with a performance from the Red Hearts, one of the bands signed to their music label April77Records. Belvedere Vodka drinks were passed like nobody's business, while fashion fans perused the goods and hipsters tried to one-up each other by seeing who had the tightest pants.

Though the sound technician might not have been qualified for the gig and the A/C was lacking in power, the bands simultaneously pleased the audience and, presumably, disturbed residents in the new high-end condos above. Before the LA-based Red Hearts took to stage, DJ Kelley B played a set on vinyl, followed by a performance from the UK's The Franks. The crowd was packed with the folks behind practically every up-and-coming website company and store in the Bay Area, including those from Internet shopping destination Tobi.com, Organic Style, Brooklyn Circus, Azalea, and way too many bloggers to count (Heart Attack City, Chictopia, ShopMyCloset, The Steel Closet, and, uh, the Pipeline).
Acrimony is located at 515 Gough Street, San Francisco, 415-861-1025; www.shopacrimony.com
